 Creating a Remotely Hosted Poll
By: Praveen Kumar

What is a remotely hosted poll?

You might have seen them at many web sites. A question and a bunch of answers. Your users can vote on them. It really is a win-win situation. Your readers would love to express themselves and you can know what they really want.

How can it help me?

Every one wants to express their opinions. Your readers are no exception. If you give them the chance to tell you about themselves, they would love you for it. You get to know more about your readers and then can improve your site to your reader?s tastes.

Oops but I do not know HTML!

Congrats, you are in luck. All you need to know is how to copy and paste. Most remotely hosted polls just require select your question and options. You just need to paste the generated code to your web page. You can also just link to the poll which most remotely hosted poll sites would host for you.

But would not my visitors be scared away? They are very graphic conscious.

You get to customize each aspect of the poll. You can decide on the number of options to the question, the color scheme, pretty much everything. You can get it to look exactly like your web site.

But I hate ads on my website!

And so do we. It is your web site, why should you show somebody elses advertisements on it? If a poll site wants to put its ads on your site, get out of there, fast. Most poll sites create polls with no ads, so you can put the polls without subjecting them to any extra ads.

Ok so how do I do it?

  1. Go to Ilovepolls and Create a Poll.
  2. Choose your question and the options.
  3. Choose your colors.
  4. Get the code and paste it to your web page or blog. Alternatively, just link to the created poll.

Is that really that simple?

Yeah, it is. Welcome to Ilovepolls.com.
